This Cookie Policy explains how PickzIt (“PickzIt”, “we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use the PickzIt website and Platform.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that may be stored on your computer, mobile phone, tablet or other device when you visit a website.
Cookies allow a website to recognise a device, remember preferences, maintain a session, understand how the website is used and, depending on the type of cookie, support other functionality such as analytics or advertising.
Cookies may be:
First-party cookies
These are placed by PickzIt or by a service operating on our behalf.
Third-party cookies
These are placed by third-party services used on the Platform, such as analytics, advertising, embedded content or other technology providers.
Cookies can also be:
Session cookies
These are normally deleted when you close your browser.
Persistent cookies
These remain on your device for a specified period or until you delete them.
2. Why does PickzIt use cookies?
Depending on the features implemented on the Platform, PickzIt may use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- ensuring the Platform operates correctly;
- maintaining secure sessions;
- remembering your preferences;
- remembering your cookie choices;
- improving website performance;
- understanding how visitors use PickzIt;
- measuring the effectiveness of features and content;
- improving search and filtering functionality;
- preventing fraud and abuse;
- supporting marketing and advertising activities; and
- providing embedded third-party functionality.
We do not use cookies simply because they are available. We aim to use only those technologies that are reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
3. Categories of cookies
PickzIt may use the following categories of cookies.
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function or for a service specifically requested by you.
They may be used for purposes such as:
- maintaining a secure session;
- remembering your cookie preferences;
- authentication;
- security;
- load balancing;
- protecting forms and requests from abuse; and
- enabling essential Platform functionality.
These cookies generally do not require consent where they are genuinely necessary for the operation of the service.
The European Data Protection Board recognises an exception for technically necessary cookies, while non-essential cookies generally require consent under the applicable ePrivacy rules.
3.2 Preference / Functional Cookies
These cookies allow PickzIt to remember choices you make and provide enhanced functionality.
For example, they may remember:
- preferred language;
- search preferences;
- display preferences;
- previously selected settings; or
- other choices made while using the Platform.
Where consent is legally required, these cookies will only be activated after you provide the relevant consent.
3.3 Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use PickzIt.
They may allow us to understand information such as:
- which pages are visited;
- which features are used;
- how visitors navigate the Platform;
- how long visitors spend on different pages;
- which searches are commonly performed;
- where technical problems occur; and
- how the Platform can be improved.
Analytics information may be collected by PickzIt or by third-party analytics providers.
Where consent is required, analytics cookies will not be activated until you provide consent.
3.4 Marketing and Advertising Cookies
If PickzIt uses advertising or marketing technologies, these cookies may be used to:
- measure advertising campaigns;
- understand interactions with advertisements;
- display relevant advertising;
- limit repeated advertisements;
- measure conversions; or
- understand how visitors interact with marketing content.
These cookies may allow third-party providers to recognise your device across different websites or services.
Where consent is required, PickzIt will request your consent before activating these technologies.
3.5 Third-Party Content
Some PickzIt pages may contain content or functionality provided by third parties.
Examples may include:
- maps;
- videos;
- social media content;
- payment services;
- analytics;
- advertising;
- communication tools; or
- other embedded services.
Depending on how the third-party service operates, accessing or displaying such content may result in third-party cookies or similar technologies being used.
Where required, PickzIt will seek consent before loading non-essential third-party technologies.
Third parties may also process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
4. Consent
Where consent is required, PickzIt will ask for your consent before placing or accessing non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
Consent must be:
- freely given;
- specific;
- informed;
- unambiguous; and
- capable of being withdrawn.
The European Data Protection Board states that consent must involve an affirmative action and that simply continuing to browse a website does not constitute valid consent.
PickzIt will not treat silence, inactivity or continued browsing as consent to non-essential cookies.
5. Cookie banner
When you first visit PickzIt, a cookie consent banner may appear.
The banner may provide options such as:
Accept All
Reject Non-Essential
Manage Preferences
The purpose of these options is to allow you to make a meaningful choice about non-essential cookies.
The European Commission has highlighted that users should not be pushed into accepting cookies through deceptive design and that refusing should be as easy as accepting.
6. Recommended PickzIt cookie banner wording
The following wording may be used for the initial PickzIt cookie banner:
We use cookies to make PickzIt work, remember your preferences and, with your permission, understand how our Platform is used and improve it.
Some cookies are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off through our cookie settings. Other cookies, such as analytics or marketing cookies, are optional and will only be used with your consent.
You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies or manage your preferences.
You can change your choices at any time through Cookie Settings.
[Accept All] [Reject Non-Essential] [Manage Preferences]
This wording should be adjusted once the actual cookie technologies used by PickzIt are known.
7. Cookie preference centre
PickzIt should provide a mechanism allowing you to change your cookie preferences after your initial choice.
You should be able to:
- accept optional cookies;
- reject optional cookies;
- change individual categories where technically possible; and
- withdraw previously given consent.
Withdrawing consent should be as easy as giving it.
A “Cookie Settings” or equivalent link should therefore remain accessible on the website, for example in the website footer.
8. What happens if you reject cookies?
You can continue to use PickzIt if you reject non-essential cookies.
However, certain optional features may not operate exactly as they would if you allowed functional or other optional technologies.
Rejecting analytics cookies, for example, should not prevent you from searching for Providers or viewing Provider profiles.
Strictly necessary cookies may still operate because they are required for the Platform to function.
9. Cookie list
The precise cookies used by PickzIt will depend on the technology and services ultimately implemented on the Platform.

Cookies are not the only technology that can store or access information on a user’s device.
PickzIt may also use technologies such as:
- local storage;
- session storage;
- pixels;
- tags;
- SDKs;
- device identifiers; or
- similar technologies.
Where these technologies are subject to the same consent requirements as cookies, PickzIt will treat them accordingly.
The GDPR can apply to identifiers such as IP addresses, cookie IDs and advertising identifiers when they constitute personal data.
11. Cookies and personal data
Some cookies do not directly identify an individual.
However, cookie identifiers, IP addresses and similar identifiers may constitute personal data depending on the circumstances.
Where information collected through cookies constitutes personal data, it will also be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
12. Third-party providers
PickzIt may use third-party providers for services such as:
- website hosting;
- analytics;
- security;
- advertising;
- payment processing;
- customer communication;
- embedded maps;
- video;
- social media;
- performance monitoring; and
- other Platform functionality.
These providers may place or access cookies or similar technologies.
The specific providers used by PickzIt will be listed in the cookie table once the Platform’s technical configuration has been finalised.
Third-party providers may process information according to their own privacy policies.
13. International transfers
Some third-party technology providers may process information outside Cyprus or the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, PickzIt will use appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable GDPR requirements.
Further information is provided in our Privacy Policy.
14. Managing cookies through your browser
Most browsers allow you to:
- view stored cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block cookies;
- allow cookies from particular websites; or
- block third-party cookies.
However, blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.
Browser settings do not necessarily replace PickzIt’s consent mechanism for cookies where consent is legally required.
15. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect:
- changes to the Platform;
- new functionality;
- new third-party services;
- changes to the cookies we use;
- changes in applicable law; or
- changes to our privacy practices.
The updated policy will be published on the Platform with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Where required, we may also request consent again where our use of cookies changes materially.
